September Lunch with Jane Tranter, Bad Wolf

We are pleased to announce that our September lunch speaker has been confirmed as Jane Tranter of Badwolf.
In 2000 Jane was appointed the first ever BBC Controller of Drama Commissioning, overseeing a resurgence of drama that contributed to the modernisation of British drama and production. Programmes commissioned during her time included State of Play, Bleak House, Spooks, The Lost Prince, Criminal Justice, Little Dorrit, House of Saddam, Life on Mars, and the revival of Doctor Who. Previously Jane was an Executive Producer on award-winning dramas such as Warriors, Care and Rome. In 2007 her responsibilities widened to include BBC Films, Comedy and Programme Acquisition where she was responsible for bringing to the BBC titles including The Damned United, Gavin and Stacey, Heroes, and Mad Men.
The lunch will take place on September 22 at the Village Hotel in Swansea where guests will enjoy a two-course lunch as well as fantastic networking opportunities with other businesses from across the Swansea Bay region.
The television production company Bad Wolf was launched in 2015 to produce high-end TV and film for the global television market. It aims to create a long-term vision for film and television production in Wales and will be based in the biggest TV and Film studios ever seen in Wales in Cardiff Bay.
Upcoming productions include the series ‘A Discovery of Witches’ as well as an adaptation of the Phillip Pullman trilogy, ‘His Dark Materials’.
With another office based in Los Angeles, Jane Tranter will talk to guests about some of the cultural differences between working in Wales and in the USA, as well as the experiences of operating across more than one country and the future for the television and film industry in Wales.
Bookings will close at midnight on Monday 18th September.
The lunch will take place the Village Hotel in Swansea. Guests are asked to arrive at 12:15pm for a 1pm lunch.
