Our annual Flagship Event will see Swansea Bay Business Club members and guests gather at Ffos Las Racecourse. Iconic Swansea broadcaster and entertainment personality, Kev Johns, will be our host for the event, sponsored by Gavin Griffiths Group.
Taking place on Thursday 16th June, our Flagship Event will bring together Swansea Bay Business Club members and guests from across the Swansea Bay City Region. The Welsh horse racing and equestrian sports venue will host the late afternoon lunch followed by evening races, providing opportunity for attendees to network and enjoy themselves.
Our host Kev John’s stage career has been varied including drama, comedy, musicals and of course Pantomime with 2022 taking him into his 30th year in Panto and his 24th at the Swansea Grand. He is a popular host at Awards’ evenings, dinners and conferences and has recently returned from Snowdonia in North Wales after filming an episode of the very popular US TV show Documentary Now showing soon on Amazon.
His TV and theatre career includes roles in; Mal Pope’s musical Amazing Grace, Toshack, Me and To Hull and Back for Fluellen Theatre Company, Dylan Thomas’ Dr and the Devils, Rev Eli Jenkins and Willy Nilly in Under Milk Wood, musical Calon Lan and appeared in the National Theatre Wales production of The Passion directed by Michael Sheen, film The Gospel of Us and the BAFTA Award winning Jack to a King, amongst many, many more.
Kev is a lifelong supporter of Swansea City and on match days can be found on the pitch at the Swansea.com Stadium introducing the team and entertaining the crowd!
Kevin is an active fundraiser and is patron and supporter of a number of local charities including Harry’s Fund, RSPCA Llys Nini, Rising Stars, Harrys’ Youth Theatre, Swansea Male Choir, Swansea City Disabled Supporters Association and Maggie’s Cancer Care.
The event is sponsored by Gavin Griffiths Group and will include a complimentary drinks reception, sponsored by ND John. Gavin Griffiths Group, is a deep-rooted local industry leading group with three sites within south west Wales. The group provides first class full waste management solutions to the private and public sectors as well as bulk waste haulage, skip hire, grab lorry hire, recycled aggregates and topsoil supplies, contracting services including land remediation and large scale soil clearance.
Tickets will be open to members only initially and will open to non-members should capacity not be reached nearer to the event date. The date the event will open to non-members will be at the discretion of the Executive Board for each event.
Cancellations and amendments must be made no less than 7 days before the event.
