Swansea Bay Business Club celebrates its first event of the 2026 season, with special guest Sophie Pierce, Pembrokeshire-based rower, and the first person with Cystic Fibrosis to row across the Atlantic Ocean. This event will be sponsored by DJ Davies Fuels Limited.

On Friday 6th February 2026, Swansea Bay Business Club will meet at Swansea.com Stadium, for a delicious two course meal, with the opportunity to network with Swansea Bay Business Club members and guests from across the Swansea Bay City Region, sponsored by DJ Davies Fuels Ltd.

In March 2025, Sophie Pierce became the first person with Cystic Fibrosis to row across an ocean. Having rowed 3200 miles from Lanzarote to Antigua in a crew of four women, Sophie reimagined what is possible when living with a life long and life limiting health condition.

Sophie will share her personal journey living with Cystic Fibrosis, including how taking part in a drug trial changed the course of her life. She’ll reflect on discovering adventure through the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award as a teenager, and how those early experiences shaped her understanding of resilience, teamwork, and her own capabilities.

This event will be open to members and guests.
