Swansea Bay Business Club celebrates St. David’s Day at Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli sponsored by Activity Wales. Former Wales professional rugby union player, Lee Byrne, will be speaking at the Celebration Event.

On Tuesday 1st March 2022, Swansea Bay Business Club will meet at rugby union stadium and home to the Scarlets and Llanelli RFC, Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli. Attendees at the St David’s Day celebration lunch will enjoy a delicious three course meal, with the opportunity to network with fellow Swansea Bay Business Club members and guests from across the Swansea Bay City Region.

Our guest speaker, Lee Byrne, is a Welsh former professional rugby union player and rugby league footballer. The Bridgend native began his rugby union career playing for his home team of Bridgend Athletic EFC as a full-back. After being spotted playing rugby league for Bridgend Blue Bulls, he signed for Llanelli Scarlets, their home ground being the fitting venue of our St. David’s Day event.

He made his international debut for Wales in the 2005-06 November Test series against the All Blacks at the Millennium Stadium and continued professionally for the next 10 years before retiring due to injury, not before earning 46 Caps for Wales Grand Slam and becoming a Triple Crown Winner.

Lee has been vocal about his journey with dyslexia and published his biography The Byrne Identity in 2017. Since then, he has gone on to be appointed Development Director of BridgePort360, a building consultancy in Caerphilly and is co-founder of Perthyn Spirits.
