Swansea Bay Business Club celebrates St. David’s Day at Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli with guest speaker, Tom Shanklin, former Welsh Rugby Union player, sponsored by Lloyd & Whyte Community Broking.

On Friday 1st March 2024, Swansea Bay Business Club will meet at rugby union stadium and home to the Scarlets and Llanelli RFC, Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli. Attendees at the St David’s Day celebration lunch will enjoy a delicious three course meal, with the opportunity to network with fellow Swansea Bay Business Club members and guests from across the Swansea Bay City Region.

Our guest speaker Tom Shanklin was a formidable centre and wing who was capped 70 times by Wales before his retirement in 2011. After joining the Cardiff Blues in 2003, Tom stayed with the side for almost a decade. In doing so, he made more than 100 appearances for the club and scored 140 points.

Thanks to his performances for the domestic sides he represented throughout his career, Tom Shanklin was called up to represent Wales on 70 occasions between 2001 and 2010. On these appearances, he scored 100 points. In addition to this, Tom Shanklin was also called into two British and Irish Lions squads.

Since his retirement, he’s set up his own hospitality and events company called The Locker Room.
